Carteret High School Jazz Band

The Jazz Ensemble at Carteret is built to model the swinging “Big Bands” of the 1930s and 1940s.  It is used as a vehicle to teach the most American form of music - Jazz.  The Jazz Band focuses on all genres of Jazz - including Swing, Be-Bop, modern, fusion, and even Latin.  A competition band, the CHS Jazz Ensemble competes in the Tournament of Bands Indoor music circuit, as well as frequently attending and performing at Jazz Competitions throughout the State of New Jersey.
